Angie and Pat are a lesbian couple who have been together for over four decades. Pat, the primary bread-winner, bought an apartment 30 years ago where they have lived ever since. The couple is open to their families and often invites Pat’s family to their home for dinners. Angie’s relationship with Pat’s family has been very close. Pat unexpectedly passes away in her sleep and Angie is suddenly left on her own to deal with matters related to Pat and her estate. It is not too long before the family clashes over opinions about the burial arrangements as Angie begins to feel increasingly alienated from Pat’s family. Pat did not leave a will and their apartment will therefore go to her next of kin, under Hong Kong law. Angie is left at the mercy of Pat’s family and tries to convince them to let her stay in the apartment, but each family member has his or her own agenda regarding the flat. In the end Angie is faced with either fighting for what she believes is rightfully hers or giving up the home that she and Pat had built and lived in for decades.
